This dress was designed and built for SUNY New Paltz's 2021 production of Romeo and Juliette. I drafted and built the dress. I drafted the skirt from a pattern in a historical costume reference book, draped the bodice and overskirt, and drafted the sleeve from a reference as well. The waist cincher was a variation on the bodice pattern. When making this pattern I had to be sure to mark trim placement, and to measure carefully to see that I would have enough trim. I had exactly enough of the white trim on the skirt. I applied the trim with a combination of machine and hand sewing.
